I’m turning sixty and marking this journey into what many call the third age, and Jung calls the ‘afternoon of life,’ by writing a blog over a twelve month period. I’m hoping this blog can provide the space and opportunity to explore this journey, reflecting on life so far, hearing about the experiences of others, and imagining future possibilities for aging. I’d love to hear from you.

I wrote about my gap year in the previous blog. Over that year, I stopped writing a blog as I placed a higher priority on other activities. In beginning work again, I’ve decided to establish Authentic Webs as a web-based resource  to connect like-minded women with each other and with ideas about living fully as we age, […]

19 A Gap Year at Sixty

May 13, 2013

I began a blog two years ago as a way of reflecting on Turning Sixty and moving into what Jung calls the ‘afternoon’ of life. I was wondering about semi-retirement and found great ideas on this topic over the year I spent on the blogosphere.  As a result, I decided my gift to myself at […]

15 Flooded

January 20, 2011

This is not my […]

14 Summer Daze

January 5, 2011

Summer is associated with a sprawling somnolence here in sub-tropical Australia. The sweltering heat and sultry humidity slow the body and mind. The air is so moist that it has weight and resistance – it’s hard work to slice through it as you move about. Summer is also the time of our long annual holidays […]
